The walls in my living area, and most of my home, are white. I like a blank canvas, so I can always change out my “artwork”. The fabrics you see were all custom fitted by Peggy and Loretta at Aubusson Home. I mixed Osborne & Little Perroquet for the windows with Duralee and Schumacher on seating. I also brought in a neutral rug from Rugs USA to complement a gray tufted couch and a loveseat. I also grabbed a matching pair of bird covered chairs on Craigslist (which none of you liked on instagram, but I don’t care because I adore them) and in the middle I added a little wood-ring rectangle table from Safavieh. I love how the wooden texture looks against the ornate bird pattern on the chairs.
At that point it needed some metal, but shiny gold felt too perfect, so I went with brushed gold and galvanized silver accents. The Urchin Lamps from Dwell Studio have been on my list for some time (psst the INSIDE of the black shades are gold) so I added a pair in the room, and complemented those with a light from one of my favorite local stores, Angersteins. This light looks even more beautiful when lit. The light plays off of the diagonal lines of the pendant. Don’t let it fool you, this pendant is far from simple.
A faux metallic cowhide rug, neon light (which we’ll get to) and industrial looking accents are mixed with more silver and gold throughout the room. Not sure if you will like the space as much as I enjoy living in it, but if you do, here is a little how-to from the Shaw office. Dying to see what you think!
