  I have been spending more time than usual “looking” these past few weeks. As you know I decided to start my own line of product. I blocked off a few weeks of design time and then I changed my mind and asked for everything to come to a halt while I really thought about what I want this to look like before starting my sketches. Artists are naturally observant people and I think I take it to an entirely new level. I have been wandering around taking photos, booked a few new inspirations trips, purchased a wild amount of magazines and this week got sucked into pinterest. Here are my top three inspiration images from the week, and I’ll tell you why:

I have this new obsession with what some companies are referring to as “baby green”. It’s that unique shade of green you catch in an opal. A deeper shade than mint and w a touch more teal than seafoam. I bought these lionette by sade which started the whole thing. Now I can’t stop.

2nd image I can’t look at enough is this interior shot above. I’m inspired by the mix of color here. The neon pink mixed with the vintage is nice but it’s the addition of the crisp white with the other two is what keeps me looking. Definitely something that could work well in my office.

And last but not least, this braid. Or this bit of braid. Just need my hair to get a bit longer but when it does it’s next on my to-try  list.

Has anyone seen anything I might go crazy over? Make sure you leave a link below, tweet or tag me so I can check it out!!

    I have a love/hate relationship with Pinterest.

    One part of me is like “SO MANY PRETTY THINGS! OH MY GOSH I LOVE THAT, AND THAT, AND THAT!”

    and the other part is like “Too much stuff! I’m overwhelmed! So many pins! My eyes can’t focus, my brain hurts!”

    And then there’s the ever depressing realization that “I’d need to win the lottery to even begin to have a closet/house/vacation like this!”

    However, looking through the things I’ve pinned is fun because;
    A: It’s just a collection of things I find inspiring! and pretty! and useful!
    and B: I can already see how my style has changed since I got an account…I crack up at some of my comments on old pins “LOVE THIS” “SO GREAT”, etc. And I look at the shirt/room/whatever I pinned and think “hmmm that’s really not that great, I can’t believe I was dying over that just a year ago!”

    Just in case you’d appreciate any of the things I appreciate…

    I really like that top pin. The model is gorgeous and baby green is such a lovely color.

    I’m so so so excited about your line. I am really hoping that your line will be made in the USA or in an ethical and certified factory abroad ‘cuz I know I’ll want to buy it all! I know it sounds silly, maybe annoying but I think there are a lot of us that are ready for fashion and products that align with our personal values of respect and dignity of people. Fast fashion, and sadly, a lot of high end fashion does nothing to promote the dignity, safety and fair pay of their garment workers. Rana Plaza is one of the more recent and horrifying examples of this. I study and know waaaay too much about this topic so please don’t hesitate to reach out for any resources as you dream about your line. I hope this isn’t an annoying comment. Totally out of love, respect and excitement! I am such a fan!!
