{ help me relax }

Screen Shot 2015-03-06 at 8.55.25 AMBeing sick is for the birds. What does help when you can’t move? An amazing bed situation. I spent almost two full days in bed sick last week when I started to feel like maybe I should bed some time here when I am actually able to relax.

I’m about to take some time this weekend to revamp my relax-mode. I’ve got the bedding down for the most part but, does anyone want to share any cool sleep gadgets, books, tricks for being able to relax when you work at home?

    Bubble baths, darling! Get yourself to Lush and treat yo self 😉

    I have a Himalayan salt lamp in my room to help me sleep. Not only does it provide a little light when needed (a pretty pink glow to boot!) it helps me relax and clears the air of energies from cell phones, wifi, etc. I’ve noticed a major improvement in my sleeping patterns since getting one. I keep it on all day and then turn it off at bed time.

    Lavender oil is amazing. Lately I’ve been drinking a lot of camomile tea to calm the crazy. I like Tazo’s blend.

    Every night I read a couple chapters of a book. My favorites are by Sarah Addison Allen. Picture a warm summer night, barefoot with flowers in your hair and the stars twinkling. That’s how her books make you feel.

    I was ill last week and I finished The Orphan Master’s Son. It’s pretty epic. I’ve also been watching a lot of TED Talks lately. Not sure if they are relaxing but they are challenging and inspiring.

    a little 5 minute stretching session right at the side of my bed helps me actively remember to not take my stressors with me into bed.

    Also wearing socks! I don’t understand the science behind it but I fall asleep way faster when I wear socks to bed.
