After living 5 years in Florida, I need sun in my life every few months. As you also know, this weather has been just miserable. My creative juices have actually frozen and need to be thawed out- how else will I get this paper line designed?! I recently decided it’s time for a direct flight to sun.

A direct flight to Grand Cayman to be exact. I’ll be experiencing JetBlue Getaways later this week, staying for a few days at the Ritz-Carlton and I couldn’t be any more excited. I am taking my husband and camera along for some inspiration, a few sundresses, sunblock and not much else.

Has anyone ever been? I’d LOVE some advice on what to see while visiting. I found images of rum point and starfish beach (above) on my pinterest page and they look beautiful. If you have visited I’d love to know your must-sees and must eat-and-drinks too!

Please lay in the sun for all of us who are currently frozen!

I also stayed at the Ritz. Definitely the best place in the Caymans!! I got proposed to/engaged at The Wharf. The concierge at the Ritz helped my husband get us a private table on the beach at sunset with a harpist – unforgettable food, wine, ambiance, and proposal. They also do a big fish feed each evening. You can’t not check it out!

You’ll love the hotel! The La Prairie spa is particularly amazing downstairs – it is a “can’t miss” even to just dip into the plunge pool. But I have to tell you that massage was pretty darn memorable. Enjoy 🙂

I was just there in November. Sublime. Six Senses Eco Tours was a pleasant surprise. They do Rum Point and Starfish Beach.

Oo! So excited for you! Cayman is one of my all-time favorite spots! For genuine, delicious conch chowder, eat at the Cracked Conch. The bar behind the restaurant is very causal but fun. Scuba divers push off from there! I also recommend the fish tacos at Sunshine Grill (by the pool behind the hotel). The line can be long so ask to sit at the bar. The girls are super friendly and will take care of you. The Wharf’s food is not as good as it used to be, but watching children feed the tarpon is a hoot! Be sure to visit Peachwave for froyo, and just spend some time at night walking around. It’s totally safe. Lastly, the beach at The Ritz can be extremely crowded, so walk down to The Westin and find a chair! And go jet skiing! My favorite! Okay, done!
