Whether it’s a new date night dress, distressed leather bag, or eraser (yes, you heard me), I am forever on the hunt for the best of the best. Trends are constantly changing, but some styles are undeniable. Here are a few recent faves I can’t live without.
Summer can be such a tricky time to maintain your personal style. We are all constantly trying to break the ever-so-easy t shirt and jeans look. I even find myself spending most of my time with natural salt sprayed hair, a loose a-line dress and gladiators–just to stay cool. It’s so simple to turn your vibe around with a nice pop. Change up the typical mirror shades for something tinted. Skip the typical beige purse for something turquoise.
We’ve all heard that history repeats itself in regards to fashion. Sometimes thats a good thing, but other times — yikes. These are a few favorite trends, or vintage finds coming that I am in full support of. What are a few of your favorites?
One of the first changes I decided to make on this blog, was getting back to sharing my very favorite things with you. Sometimes, the team and I get so busy here in the office with design projects that I don’t actually get a change to sit down and share the products that I love so much.
Therefore today, I’m choosing Aerin Lauder‘s new candle collection. I’ve been a fan of hers since meeting the team a few years ago, and learning about our shared passion for perfect packaging. I love a design perfectionist–so Aerin and I are probably best friends.
Of course, it was the packaging that swayed me when I saw the new candle collection. Watercolor floral boxes? (Yes–and why didn’t I get to paint these this. Call me please team Lauder.) If I were giving these as gifts I wouldn’t even need to wrap – but I’m keeping these sweet scents for my own space today. It’s raining outside which is IMHO the best time to light a new scent because it makes being stuck indoors a little less gray and a little more relaxing.
As a designer and artist I spend long hours in the office which can make you feel a little crazy so I try to make a peaceful ritual out of my start each day. Every single day I have a least one candle lit in office. It’s my daily luxury and I truly think that it brightens my mood while helping me focus.
I added Caffarella Vine this to the office console first. When you remove the outer blue-leaf patterned box you’ll find another box holding the gold lid which also acts as stand (making any space in your home instantly the perfect space). Inspired by the Parco Della Caffarella in Rome this scent is a fresh, woody floral. It’s strong which I love and actually smells as if I have fresh cut spring flowers in the room.
I’m saving the L’ Ansecoy Orange Blossom for mid summer. It’s a fresh, clean scent; airy with citrus notes. I didn’t get to trythe other scents just yet, but you know I will. I’m going to need these boxes as office decor. Until then, I added this illustration inspired by the collection.
Beautiful job Aerin, on yet another beautiful collection.
As you know, I’m always on the look out for the most amazing products. Summer is officially here–and beach trips are on my mind. Pack a sack lunch and get on the road. Kidding, these leather “lunch sack” clutches are amazing, and so unique. Also, here are a few fav bikinis I found on my hunt! I’m loving the perforated lining on this Zimmermann Pavilion Tri Ladder Bikini.
It’s THE FLWRY season again! The Nicole’s are back at it–prescribing bouquets via THE FLWRY. Yes, you heard me right. Last week, we popped over to Philadelphia for their spring launch event to celebrate the season.
The event was stunning. Everything was floral and bright, fully equipped with a flower canopy! (I KNOW.)
We love these ladies project so much, we had no choice but to bring our little FLWRY bouquet to the office as essential decor.
Weather in a vase, or in the beautifully designed packaging–It’s certainly a prescription I don’t mind getting refilled!
A few weeks ago, the Revelations RX team brought me to NYC to check out their new products and learn about the penetration technology behind them. I sipped champagne with beauty editors high above the city at glasshouses and spoke with guests about instagram. After the wonderful evening with editors I headed back to Wilmington excited to try these goodies out.
I tried their mask for tired and puffy eyes the next morning before heading to work- not my usual mask nighttime routine. The team explained that these masks are designed for the girl on the go, so I thought I’d put that to the test and place the mask on during my morning coffee. The nice part about that? My skin felt refreshed during the day- instead of while I sleep at night.
You place the Revelations RX eye mask treatments (which are milky blue in color) high on your cheekbones and then slowly peel off the outside liner- leaving the treatment on your skin for 20 minutes which is what inspired the blue brush strokes on the above artwork. Next I’m trying the eye roller.
Speaking of the artwork, the creative team and I liked it so much that we decided to make it into cell phone covers and prints so stay tuned to dallasshaw.com to get your hands on her!
Hi everyone! I’m busy working on the book and pretty fun news- my new website! This blog will soon live there along with all other social content and – wait for it- shopping. While we wait for that to take shape I thought I’d share some book inspiration I’m coming across here.
The book is a fashion book so it has me researching some amazing trends and imagery. I thought I’d share my inspiration here for you to get you warmed up!
Yesterday, I was peeking around at leather jackets when I found this beauty:
which in turn led me to all these beautiful embellishes jackets:
any embellished jacket thoughts stirring around out there?
I have been working on designing my own line, and sometimes I get overwhelmed with my own thoughts and ideas. The best thing I can do when this happens? Take a break, walk around, see new things and the ideas kind of sort themselves out for me. I hit Annapolis MD and all of the above happened. Along with some shopping. Here’s what I brought home.
A new notepad that I think will serve as inspiration for the new line. I love the mix of paper it holds.
Alpaca finger puppets. They are adorable. Here are some on Etsy.
A red necklace w the smallest beads I’ve seen since my last visit to abc carpet.
