{ Dallas Shaw x Palihouse Santa Monica }

May 31, 2016

Ok so, Palihouse is adorable. Years ago I stayed at the Palihouse in west Hollywood and was smitten with the design so when the Carolina Herrera team flew me to Cali and asked where I wanted to stay – Palihouse.

When my car pulled up to the gate at the Santa Monica location before I even took my luggage out I put this photo up “so, the hotel’s dope” because take one look at it and you just know you’re about to like the place.
The front courtyard felt old, European almost, but with its own touches of Cali-cool
Charm – palms surrounding the door, a paint dipped picnic area with vintage inspired basketed bikes ready to be driven around the front fountain, past the Baci Bal area on out to the beach.
Instead I had some checking in and checking out of the space to do.
The lobby shocked me- I didn’t realize the design of this Pali was so different that my last Pali! A dark library-esque feel suited the entire building (which was built in 1925. My home was built in 1905, so an old space and creaky floors decked in rich design is my absolute life. ) a burning fireplace, leather chesterfield coaches, rich green booths sat under tall Windows and light pours in those to light up other design elements like stags, floral trays, dark walls, wicker tables, velvet dusty pink seating and a personal favorite – a long thin wooden table in the middle
Of the room to bring it all together. (With small P’s painted on each chair). The the details are really special here. The hand-operated elevator , deep hallways with dark paintings, framed hardly noticeable feathered wreaths hidden around corners. My suite (which I got into with an actual key, not an electronic key) was a bit brighter than the downstairs. A velvet green coach, and a pink ottoman sat next to a built-in shelf full of old classic books. The pheasant filled wallpaper changed in print and color as I explored each room – orange and cream in the bedroom, gold in the hallway, a deep hunter green in the bathroom. The large bedroom had Windows that opened (and stayed open most of my trip since the weather was so breezy), a small stag above be bed and a painted dog on an easel in the corner. There was a full kitchen and small table around the corner.  Across from the room, there is a hallway with a seated vanity and the small but charming bathroom.
So you get it I was obsessed with the design. a very Me mix. But what I found even more impressive was the kind staff.
I like two very different kinds of hotels – huge luxury resorts and boutique hotels with amazing designs and a sweet staff because I really feel at home. This hotel fit the bill.
The staff was Overly accommodating. Polite and not uptight (which is how I want to treat people and be treated in return.) they even brought me coffee to the room and welcomed me with a bottle of wine – this hotel just gets me.
Note: they don’t have their liquor license yet so you can’t pop by for a drink just yet. You can however hang in the lobby and snack, or meet a friend for a fresh juice and other snacks they serve downstairs.

Guys–I’ve found it. As you know, I’m always in search of a new lip look. Maybelline has their Super Stay 24 hour Lipstick and it is my new thing. They have so many colors to choose from, and they are SO affordable so you can bulk up! My typical issue with stay-all-day colors, are that though the color stays, your lips get dried out causing the color to peel. Maybelline Super Stay 24hr is a dual lipstick that comes with both the color and a lip balm. You start with the color, let it dry, and top it off with the balm to lock in the color and moisturize (Genius!)

Now that summer’s just around the corner, I’ve been leaning towards a south western-vibe. This can be tricky because you don’t want to over-do it. I’m finding great new subtle ways to feature some of my favorite  pieces, like these below. It’s easy to get the look with a little fringe, high waisted jeans, or a pop of turquoise!

{ Dallas Shaw x Westfield Garden State Plaza }

May 18, 2016

I’m definitely not new to this, on-the-go lifestyle. For Mother’s Day, after spending some quality time with my own mom, I made my way over to the Westfield Garden State Plaza to illustrate and meet some mother daughter (and son!) duo’s!

There’s nothing I love more than meeting fans and followers.

I had so much fun meeting you stylish momma’s at the Westfield Garden State Plaza. Keep an eye out on instagram for more chances to stop in and see me!

Are you as crazy about the new mermaid hair trend as I am this season? Well if you’re feeling brave, try this pastel style! Is being softly-bold a thing? If so I think this nails it.

Mixing an array of trends seem to be a constant in my personal style. It has to be. No one theme can limit your style–mixing it up helps to create a brand of your own. It’s all about give and take! If I find a look I love (like these pants for example) but don’t want to take on a total hippie look (because thats so not me) I mix it up with a classic Chanel oxford and some diamonds!

{ Dallas Shaw x Final Paris memories }

May 11, 2016

I’m an artist so of course I took photos of nearly everything that stopped my in my tracks- which was often in Paris. My advice for travelers is to be a tourist.
See everything you can because each cathedral, each museum, each cafe was so beautiful in it’s own way.

I will never forget this trip and will be bringing it to the drawing board asap.

Thank you to Park Hyatt Vendome and Four Seasons Georges V for treating me like a princess in town. Thank you to my husband who forced me to take a minute out of a busy schedule and travel. And thank you to the city of Paris for a life-changing experience.

{ Dallas Shaw x Re-Coach Re-Opening Event }

May 10, 2016

The other week, I got the chance to host Coach‘s Event at the King of Prussia Mall! The event was celebrating the Coach King of Prussia location’s re-opening as 1 of only 2 Coach Craftsmanship Bars in the US. My good friend (and Men’s Style Pro Blogger) Sabir came by, along with many other friends and fans! (It was so great to meet you all!)

The event highlighted Craftsmanship, personalization, and the Coach 1941 Saddle Bag. I’m obsessed with their “Prarie” vibe in the new line–You’ll definitely be seeing me in a lot of their pieces.

 One of my favorite parts–any guests who posted on social media during the event took home polaroid print outs of their photos! They had tasty chocolates in the shape of monogramming letters and a Sangria Bar. (Yum!)

It was so great to meet everyone who came by!

We are obsessed with this soft pastel look. fear of commitment? No worries–these chalks will wash right out when you’re done being a mermaid. My favorite look is with a messy, loose curl. Try it out, I promise you won’t be disappointed!
