{ southwestern rug }

Decided a fun southwestern rug would be great for the bedroom and found the perfect selection at Rugs USA. I ran into a slight sizing problem: every rug that I liked was just too small for the room. The solution? Two of the same rugs, layered to make one larger rug.

I ended up with the Savanna Southwestern from Rugs USA (of course). After a few bad experiences with another rug company, I now use Rugs USA for every room. You saw them in the dining room and in the living room, as well (link). Prices are great and selection is by far the best.

{ korres }

Last week I got to do some work with Korres, which meant I got to play with new product. I was introduced to Korres this year when their simple packaging caught my eye and I have been slowly trying new products ever since. New favorite? Korres lip butter (wild rose is my early winner), anti-aging primer, and the wild rose brightening cream. The color, and the packaging led me to try and now I’m addicted. Thanks for introducing me Team Korres.

Next up on my list to try? Black Pine cream.

{ caldrea garden party }

November 26, 2014

Last week I went to a garden party hosted by Caldrea at the Gramercy Park Hotel.  This exceeded any expectations I had for a garden party.  First, we were greeted with flower crowns and sent up to find the entire roof was decorated in gorgeous fresh flowers and Caldrea products.  Absolutely breathtaking.

For those of you not familiar with Caldrea products, they specialize in fragrant body products  and home products that smell so good that they almost make me want to clean my house, almost.  Some of the scents we were exposed to at the party were Basil Blue Sage, Lavender Pine, and Ginger Pomelo.

Click the links below to shop Caldrea products and explore their new blog The Caldrea Gardens that’s  filled with inspiring images, recipes, holiday wrapping tips, and more

{ izola }

I first came across Izola by accident. I was perusing online sites (as per usual), this time searching for (more) candles. They are lit constantly all over my house, every day of the year. The search led me to my dream candle. I love the color of the glass, the shield, and the packaging. I also love the fact that it’s lavender, but still looks masculine and strong instead of frilly and girly. I needed to know what genius company produces this (not only so I could order one, but so I could see if the rest of the line was as well designed). Yes. It was.

I began adding others to my own home wish list and before you I knew it, I had a collection of my own from the site. Think you’ll enjoy it too.

{ lengthy lashes }

November 24, 2014

Holy lashes!  The thing with lashes is unfortunately, you either have them or you don’t.  I’m fortunate to have longer lashes, but for those of you who are a lacking a little lash, false eyelashes are easier than ever.  There are so many options now when it comes to lashes, full strip falsies, individual strands, and now lash extensions.  Pair your false lashes with some liner and shadow and watch people stare.

For you going au natural, make sure to curl your lashes to make them look even longer (and you look more awake!) and add the same liner and shadow.

{ how to pack a gym bag }

November 21, 2014

How to PackProcessed with VSCOcam with g3 preset

I have recently made a decision, two decisions actually: 1) To work out and 2) to be healthier. I have two full time jobs, I’m an artist and a tastemaker, so you can only imagine my schedule (or lack thereof). In addition to the wild schedule, I am not one of those girls who considers working out “fun”, so it took a little push to get me off on the right foot.

I noticed quickly that if I don’t keep a gym bag already packed and ready to go each day, then once I come home to pack it, I end up in my office instead.  And of course, having a great looking black suede duffel by Herschel Supply Co. doesn’t hurt.

I decided I’d share my tips for always keeping a gym bag packed:
I always keep a pair of sneaks and ankle socks on hand, as well as a pair of plastic flip flops (for exiting yoga or even an unexpected shower). Favorite pairs right now include: Nike Lunar Sweet Victory, New Balance 410 Tie Dye Sneaker, Sam Edelman Dax Sneaker, Nike Roshe Run Sneakers, Nike Free 4.0 V4 Running Sneakers.
The nice thing about investing in a sneaker you love, is that everyone is wearing them with day/dress clothes right now.  So, if you are going to splurge on a sneaker, now is the time! I have two pairs (and counting) on my Christmas list.

Flips flop wise? Havianas.

I always keep a water bottle, a few packets on vitamin C (these by Youth Infusion are the ones I am trying this week), and a bag of nuts, just in case I need a snack before an intense spin class. Pony tail holders, a towel, deodorant, music are all musts.

I have been carrying Korres Makeup Removing Wipes.  Having something to take my makeup off before class is a lifesaver.  Feels like a little luxury in a not very luxurious locker room.

And last but def not least, my favorite new gym essential I keep gear from Onzie. I love the prints, the straps, the colors…

I have mentioned on this blog before my addiction to Dolce and Gabbana beauty. This fall I’m trying out their skincare, in addition to their fall line. The fall collection focuses on a warm, natural look and some iridescent tones, so I am starting there.
My favorite eye shadows so far are Dahlia (a pearly, warm dark purple) and Cocoa (a matte rich dark brown) in the new Perfect Mono. For of you who are like me, and always on the hunt for the perfect nude- check out Honey for lips.
I’ll also be trying their new Lift Foundation and Primer ( mouisturizing w/ flawless coverage? yes please. ) As if that wasn’t enough of a fun new regimen, I’m also jumping in on the Essential Cleansing Oil, Essential Cleansing Gel, and Essential Cleansing Milk. stay tuned on which my favorite is…

Last week, the most beautiful coat showed up at my door by Armani Exchange.  Let me tell you, coats are my thing. I cannot stop buying them, but the Armani Exchange Cocoon Coat will keep me at peace for a while. After I took it out of the velvet box, I hung it up and just waited for the weather to drop a bit. Every morning for 4 days I got up, checked the weather and tried to figure out if it was time to bring out my newest camel cocoon coat. Then, I decided it was just cool enough. Threw it on over a black jumper, grabbed navy shoes by asos, a navy bcbg hat (yes, still loving the hat thing for a minute) and was out the door.

Love the color, love the length, love the oversized shape. Bring on the cold.
