Do you guys remember me talking about the gorgeous Pink Curl Extensions from Ouidad the other week?  If not, click here for a quick refresher.  Well, I went a little extension crazy and put a bunch in my hair–hey, it’s for a good cause!

These Ouidad Pink Curls are a fun and easy way to help raise awareness (and money) for breast cancer research.    100% of the $10 purchase of the extensions goes directly to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Ouidad and I wanted you guys to rock those pink curl extensions, too, so we’re giving 1 winner 5 extensions.  That way, you can go all out pink like me or share with your family and friends, whatever you’d like!  And make sure to take some pictures and use #CurlsForACure so we can see how you are wearing your curls (added bonus is Ouidad will donate an additional $1 for each picture with that hashtag).

Here’s how to enter:

-Follow @dallasshaw and @ouidad on Instagram

{ when in doubt wear black }

October 14, 2014

2-1 (2) 1-5 (2)

Recently, I had a full day of artwork & meetings followed by a night event in Philadelphia.  I was struggling to figure out what to wear for a full busy day-to-night outfit, then I thought “what would I dress my illustrations in?” The answer: I’m tired, so black seems easy. Therefore, I went with a black swiss dot and lace dress by Madison Marcus and a very masculine black blazer by J. Crew (I have so many J. Crew blazers, it hurts). I grabbed a hunter green clutch to break things up (only slightly) and then paired it all with nude heels just to make sure that it didn’t feel too corporate for my taste. When I looked in the mirror, I still felt a bit bland, so I added a quick braid to the top of my pony just to give it “that special something”. I felt right at home all day- in meetings, in the office, and at a work event. Hope it will inspire you to mix up your basic at-work black.

Sink Product

My past few weeks have been super hectic.  Amazing, but still stressful.  I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite ways to relive stress is to get a massage.  My friends at the Marilyn Monroe Spa at the Hyatt Times Square must’ve known that I was stressed because they gave me a massage and a facial-massage. And let me tell you, I felt so much more at ease after these massages, that I didn’t even check my inbox for the rest of the day (okay, maybe just once).

Growing up, it was always a dream of mine to somehow work in fashion. What seemed like a far fetched dream was the idea of owning the designer goods that I dreamed about and could only look at on the pages of Vogue. Owning investment pieces was something I approached hesitantly as I began in the industry. I watched friends and clients drop BIG money on labels and names without any thought and I found that I was a bit more selective about what to spend my hard earned $ on.

I do buy some pricey items, but if and when I do, I make sure it’s something that I will love forever. Enter my new Missoni coat. It’s cozy, long, unique in color, and I know I’ll have this forever. I can’t wait to curl up in this when it snows- until then I’m pairing it with booties and short dresses for early fall.

Do you have a piece you broke down and splurged on? Did you pay full price or wait for an irresistible deal? Dying to know what your favorite pieces are.

October 8, 2014

I found out about Karen Karch a while back and have since become a huge fan of her jewelry.  Luckily, the feelings were mutual and she custom-made me the gorgeous ring you see below.  Isn’t it insane?

Ring 2Ring

Well, Karen wanted you all to have a chance at owning a piece of her jewelry as well, so she’s giving away her Legend Dog Tag Necklace as seen on Shailene Woodley on the Women’s Health cover.  This necklace is worth over $300, but saying you’re wearing the same necklace as a celebrity is worth even more, right?

One of the many things I love about my job is being exposed to new brands and products. This week was extra special because of my exclusive first look at the brand new Tata Harper Lip/Cheek Tints in Very Charming, Very Vivacious, and Very Sweet.  I travel often and having a 2-in-1 product is key for me, since it’s one less thing to pack. Even better, Tata Harper’s products are 100% natural and nontoxic, and made in the USA.

 I tried all three colors and the tint of each shade has just the right amount of color for the perfect flush. The texture is velvety soft, smells divine (as do all of Tata’s products) and contains minerals to add a little bit of a plump! Didn’t know you could get that effect without the stinging sensation I have felt with other plumpers, but this is so soft.

You all know by now that I’m a packaging girl. As if the glowing green + gold didn’t already win over my design heart, the Tata Harper team took the time to engrave, that’s right ENGRAVE my name into one of the tints they sent. Which I know will come in handy when all of my beauty junkies try to steal this from me!

Thank you so much to Tata Harper and her darling team for letting me test out some of her products before anyone else, and for taking the time to personalize Very Vivacious  just for me. It just so happens to be my favorite shade.

You must have known.

I love metallics.  I love metallic makeup.  This look is a great combination of gold and black.  It’s so intense that you want to make your eyes the focal point by pumping up the mascara and going nude on the lips.  Here’s how to achieve the look:

{ Armani Beauty Eye and Brow in Gold } { Armani Eyes to Kill Solo Shadow } { Sisely So Intense Mascara in Deep Black } { Lipstick Queen Vesuvius Liquid Lipstick in Bare }
