{ carefree braid }

June 16, 2014

 Really good messy braids are probably my favorite hairstyle in the world.  I don’t wear them often, but boy do they look pretty in pictures.  Make sure to use some strong texturizing sprays and hair spray in order to make everything look just the perfect amount of messy and carefree.  Bonus points if you wear this style at the beach.

{ modern organic }

June 13, 2014

Now I know they say organic is good for you but I can’t bring myself to fully commit to that with food (love my greasy fatty foods sometimes, who’s with me?).  But organic looking home decor is something I can work with.  Keep the furniture more modern in design but organic in material and your home will be the envy of everyone; fries or no fries.

{ nude bag }

June 12, 2014

A nude bag is a must-have for me.  It’s like the LBD of purses because it goes with everything for every occasion.  Big, small, and any shape, nude will get you places (that sounded off, but you know what I mean).

Watercolors are my life, and well, my job, so watercolor chic speaks to me.  And isn’t this girl chic?  Tom Ford, E&J, Chanel, a Dallas Shaw original (heyyyooo), Givenchy, Louboutin, and more.

{ summer red }

June 10, 2014

To me, red lips can work for every season, so why not summer?  Pair it with some gorgeously highlighted eyes, pink cheeks, and long lashes.  Hey, maybe the lipstick can help hide those sunburned lips, too.

Board 2

Now we don’t usually feature lingerie on our blog and after looking at Nordstrom’s selection on the moodboard, I’m not exactly sure why.  Lingerie has come a long way–this stuff is cute.  So ladies, toss aside your boring bras and granny panties and update your lingerie with Nordstrom’s help.  Don’t even do it for a dude, do it because you’ll feel more confident.

Nordstrom also does free bra measurements and carries sizes higher than a DD (which I know is a huuuge bonus for you lucky big busted ladies).

{ Neon }

June 6, 2014

Neon is one trend I hope never goes away.  I’ve jumped on that bandwagon big time (have you seen my custom neon light on insta?) .  Shoes, jewelry, and now my home.  Add pops of neon to neutral spaces with art or accessories or go big with neon pieces of furniture to give it the perfect pop.

{ TWN: Something Preppy }

June 4, 2014

Sometimes we all just need a little prep in our step (see what I did there).  And in lieu of a plaid skirt and cardigan tied around our neck, we went modern prep and paired a striped tank with jeans a statement necklace and some glasses (for when you want to look extra smart).  Tie it all together with a cool clutch, cute case, fun sandals and you’re a prep in training.
Oh, add in some mascara and a red lip and you’re basically Taylor Swift.

Office Closet Bedroom

Soooo, welcome to my home.  You may have been seeing some BTS instas in the past few days and we’re now happy to tell you that I was shooting for the amazing Rue Magazine.  In their newest issue, you’ll get a tour of some of my favorite spots in my house with a sprinkling of some fashion too, because of course.

Check out my house and the rest of issue 28 here.

And a huuuge shout out to Alison Conklin for the amazing photography.  Familiarize yourself with her work because she’s awesome.
